AIRPORT HAS 'HOT DATE' WITH CHARITY CALENDAR
A team of firefighters who traded in their uniforms for their birthday suits have brightened up the day of two local charities!
Last year, fourteen fit firefighters from across the watches based at Robin Hood Airport, got their kit off to pose for a calendar to raise funds for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and Make a Wish Foundation.
So far the calendar has raised £8,000 which has been split equally between the two charities, with a cheque presentation at the Airport Fire Station.
Ian Norris, Sub Officer on Bluewatch, said: “Bluebell Wood and Make a Wish Foundation were the chosen charities to receive the money raised from the sales of the calendar as both are supported by the local communities.
“This is the first calendar we have produced and we’re thrilled with the money we have raised – with still hopefully more to come. Getting ready for the photo shoot was a daunting task, but it was great afternoon.
“Some of the boys really got into character, we certainly have some potential male models that enjoyed posing, but were conscious that their efforts would benefit two worthy causes.
“Our thanks go to all involved for their tremendous efforts in raising funds and to all the sponsors for making this calendar a reality.”
