Passing through the Green Gate will bring you out at the quayside, and you can enjoy boat trips to nearby Sopot, or Gdynia.  You won't want to miss the crane monument whilst you're here.  Nearby St Mary's Gate will take you to Poland's biggest church, St Mary's which is also very impressive.  You'll definitely want to see the Old Town Hall whilst you're in the city too.

The Archaeological Museum in Gdansk houses over 27 000 exhibits on display, and you can even tour the museum tower too.  The National Museum and Wisłoujscie Fortress are well worth seeing too.  If you like your history then you'll want to make sure that you have booked flights to Gdansk to explore this incredible city for yourself.

Sopot

Sopot is a health resort centre near Gdansk, and is a popular destination for those people who book themselves flights to Gdansk.   With the inviting sandy beaches of the Bay of Gdansk, it's not hard to see why.  As well as the beaches, you'll also find the longest wooden pier in Europe, and the aptly-named Grand Hotel.  
Monte Casino Street is the main street, and has many 19th century houses, some of which are now restaurants.  Take a walk down the side streets and you'll discover some of the nicest parks and gardens in Sopot.

If you want something a bit different, then why not visit the Castle Hill Caves, which are Sopot's oldest historical site and unique in a contemporary European city.  Flights to Gdansk don't just have to be to see the old buildings, or for the beach.

Gdynia

Gdynia is a young port near Gdansk, and was founded in 1926 as a harbour.
Today, it’s a popular tourist destination, and many passengers on flights to Gdansk will choose to visit Gdynia.  It's easy to get to Gydnia either by train or car, thanks to the impressive infrastructure, so if you've booked flights to Gdansk, you won't have to travel far to get here.  

Gdynia offers beautiful scenery, such as long promenades, and attractive waterfronts, as well as marinas which are home to many yachts and boats.  Kosciuszki Square is the main area here, and with cafes and restaurants as well as the shopping on Starowiejska and Świętojańska streets, there's plenty to see and do here.

If shopping or relaxing on the beach isn't your thing, why not visit the Maritime Museum or the aquarium?  Perhaps you'll want to go to the Municipal Theatre, or the Sax Club, which has seen performances from jazz musicians from all over the world.  You'll be able to enjoy lots of arts and culture as well as the beach and history if you make the most of your flights to Gdansk.
