With a central location, excellent infrastructure and modern facilities complimented by our large freighter aircraft capability, Robin Hood is the airport of choice for all your air cargo needs.
Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield (DSA/EGCN) is the first full service Airport to be built in Britain in over 50 years. The delivery of this £100m development project by Peel Airports took over seven years to achieve.
The Airport opened for commercial operations on 28 April 2005, and the transformation of the former RAF Finningley air base in South Yorkshire into a brand new ‘personality’ airport under the Robin Hood banner has over this short period attracted substantial passenger traffic and received a positive response from the freight forwarding community.
Robin Hood Airport is ideally located in the centre of UK with excellent road links to provide hub facilities for airfreight distribution throughout all UK & Ireland. M62 (Hull-Liverpool). M1 (London-Leeds), A1 (London-Edinburgh). Average transit times from DSA to London 3-4 hours, Birmingham 2-3 hours, Manchester 2-3 hours, Scotland 4-5 hours.
The Airport has serious aspirations for the development of the freight and cargo product, and has already handled numerous ad hoc freighters including B747, DC8, AN74, A300, Bae146 operations. Diverse payloads have included high tech electronics, pharmaceuticals, wine and race horses.
