Dublin City

Weather

Dublin has a similar climate to the UK, mild winters and cool summers.  Perhaps surprisingly Sydney, New York and even Dallas have more rain per year than Dublin. Although the weather might not be as hot and sunny as some of the other European destinations, there's much more to Dublin than the weather.

Currency

Ireland's currency Ireland is the Euro, which is the also same currency as many of the other European countries. Once you've checked the exchange rate, why not book your currency online before you go?

When To Visit Dublin

Dublin has plenty going on all year round, so it's always a great time to visit Dublin. You can be assured of a great reception, and unrivalled hospitality, no matter what time of year you visit Dublin.  It's not surprising that Dublin is seen by many as the ideal destination for a short city break, a stag or hen weekend or as the starting point of a holiday exploring even more of Ireland.  Whether you want to have a winter weekend,  a family holiday in the summer, or are coming here on a  business trip, there's plenty to keep you entertained whilst you're in Dublin.

About Dublin

Dublin has been established since at at least AD140, and and was written about by the Greek cartographer Ptolemy.  Since then it has become a bustling modern city, and a popular destination for those visiting for business purposes, as well as for pleasure.  Perhaps unsurprisingly, Dublin is now one of the fastest growing cities in Europe.

Dublin is well known for its many famous figures from the world of the arts and culture.  James Joyce, Samuel Becket and Oscar Wilde are possibly amongst the most famous.  With all this proud heritage of art and culture, tt comes as no surprise then that Dublin has many libraries, theatres, museums, and music venues.  Dublin is also proud of it's music, and U2 and Boyzone are amongst the many bands from Dublin to have become worldwide megastars.

What To Do in Dublin

There are several shopping districts in Dublin, including the famous Grafton Street and the Ilac Shopping Centre.  There is much to see and do in the city centre itself.

Dublin is also well known for it's nightlife, and the Temple Bar area offers many pubs, bars and restaurants to choose from.

The well known Dublin Castle was built in the 13th century, and is well worth a visit.  Conveniently, it's just a short walk from the Temple Bar area.

With so much to do and see, it's no wonder that Dublin Holidays are so popular.
