Dublin is one of the oldest cities in Europe. When compared to some of the more exotic destinations across the globe Dublin can be a rather costly place to visit if you are not prepared, although some of Dublin’s best and most popular tourist attractions are free, such as the National Museum Of Ireland, Phoenix Park and St Patrick's Cathedral.
Why not take one of the many excellent tour bus trips around Dublin and make sure you don't miss the most prestigious city landmarks? The world famous Guiness Stonehouse is high on most visitors' lists, and a trip to the Kilmainham Jail is also highly recommended.
By combining old and new, Dublin now offers trendy bars, elegant restaurants and stylish shopping as well as it's traditional features, history and culture. A classic feature for any modern European city is a good shopping district, including streets of top designer stores. Dublin is no exception. There are lively pedestrian shopping streets at the heart of the city, with buskers and street performers to provide an entertaining temporary distraction from shopping. There are also number of large shopping centres in the outskirts of Dublin which offer the same excellent choice all under one roof. If you explore further afield, and go to the surrounding towns, you’ll find boutiques and unique craft shops stocking items you know you won’t be able to find anywhere else.
Visiting the Dublin Tourism Centre is highly recommended, as it provides wealth of information including what's on guides, what to do and what not to miss whilst visiting Dublin. Dubliners have kept their civilized grace and ironic, self-deprecating humour that have seen them through the city's hard times. For all the history and new street life, it is the Dublinners themselves who remain the city’s greatest asset.
