With Valentine’s Day just around the corner and the latest series of popular ITV dating show Take Me Out on our screens, there is no better time to fly to the ‘Isle of Fernando’s’ from Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield.
For those who aren’t familiar with the show, it’s hosted by Paddy McGuiness and features singletons attempting to find their dream date. Once successful, the matching couple are whisked away to the ‘Isle of Fernando’s,’ the exotically sounding albeit fictitious name for the island of love.
The Isle of Fernado’s is actually Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife. Doncaster Sheffield Airport operates four flights per week to Tenerife. Thomson’s winter schedule offer flights on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays to the sunshine isle with RyanAir operating flights on Thursdays.
Steve Gill, Managing Director at Doncaster Sheffield Airport, said: “Many people believe that the Isle of Fernando’s is actually a real destination and they want to holiday there.
“It comes as no surprise that viewers are being tempted by footage of Tenerife’s year round sun, fantastic beaches and a range of hotels, from five star affordable luxury to couples only and family friendly resorts to choose from.
“Treating your loved one to a holiday to Tenerife this Valentine’s Day is definitely a very romantic gesture and the convenience of leaving from South Yorkshire combined with great value and low-cost fares is an added bonus!”
