Airport enjoys time in the spotlight
Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield is enjoying its time in the media spotlight having become a television star in high demand!
The airport played a major role in a recent episode of Emmerdale, with award winning star Danny Miller filming his character Aaron Livesy’s final scenes in the terminal buildings. Emmerdale cast and crew filmed the top secret scenes in March with two endings being filmed.
In addition the airport has made a number of starring appearances in television shows including Come Fly With Me, Prisoners Wives and Spooks. BBC One’s The One Show has also been filming at the airport in recent weeks.
Local band’s Torn and Slinky Peach have also recently filmed their latest music videos at the airport.
Lorraine Daffern, Robin Hood Airport’s Head of terminal Services and Security added, “We are developing a growing reputation for film, TV and more recently music videos to be filmed at the Airport because we always try to accommodate the various needs of production companies.
“It’s great to be able to work with programmes like Emmerdale and be a desired filming location. It’s always interesting for the many passengers travelling through the airport to the many sun spots served from here when we have filming taking place. It has become a great place to spot celebrities as well as aeroplanes!”
