Advance Notification of Road Works - A1(M) - Major Work
Drivers are being warned about major work taking place on the A1(M) at Tickhill, south of Doncaster which could cause delays for three weeks from mid-November.
A £1.9 million resurfacing scheme is required to address serious deterioration of the road surface and underlying layers on a 2.5-mile stretch of road between junction 34 (Blyth) and junction 35 (M18 Wadworth Interchange). Some of the work will require a contraflow which is expected to cause around 30 minute delays at peak times.
Preparatory work begins from Friday 11th November, requiring overnight lane closures. The project is due to be fully completed by Friday 16th December 2011, one week after the contraflow is lifted. This final week will also require night time lane closures and hard shoulder running.
